Proportional-Integral-Derivative
(PID)
controllers
are
undoubtedly
the
most
employed
controllers
in
industry.
The
last
meeting
dedicated
to
PID
controllers
has
been
organized
by
IFAC in 2000 in Terrassa
(Spain ). The
workshop has been a great success and it has given a
significant impulse in the research in PID controllers,
as witnessed by the large number of papers published in
the last ten years on this subject. The IFAC Conference
on Advances in PID Controllers aims at gathering
academic and industrial experts in the field in order to
present the recent research developments in the design
of PID controllers. In addition to provide the current
state-of-the-art in the field, the meeting aims at
providing a perspective of the future requirements for
PID controllers in industry.
